    Description

Stan Sakai - Usagi Yojimbo Illustration Original Art (1988).
Stan Sakai's ronin rabbit first appeared in the small press comic Albedo Anthropormorphics #2 published in 1984. By 1989 he had his own book, which had a crossover with the hugely popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is an early commission illustration by Sakai, as evidenced not only by the date, but by the use of his red ink Hanko style stamp. Sakai eventually quit using the stamp as it took the ink too long to dry. This piece is ink and watercolor over graphite on 11" x 14" Bristol board. In Excellent condition.
