Wally Wood - Shock Suspense #2, Page 1 of "Gee, Dad...It's A Daisy!" (EC, 1952). When you think of EC sci-fi work, who's the first person to come to mind? If you're like most people you'll say Wally Wood. If any one page in the entire genre could sum this up, it would be this one. EC's premiere high-tech artist crams each panel full of his highly-original tech-works and distinctive Wood people. Panel one is a mind-blowing, National Geographic-like, snapshot of an alien terrain, packed with funky flora and fauna from somewhere beyond the farthest star. This panel alone could make for a great page. Great use of Craftint and detail with perspective and depth that doesn't show up in the published work. Paste-over Craftint frames on the first and third panels. Top two lines are stamped. Signed by Wally Wood at the bottom of panel one. No amount of words can describe the beauty and richness of this spectacular piece of art. This page simply transcends only have to see it to understand. Overall size is 15" x 22", image size is 13" x 18".
