Wally Wood Mad #27 "Uninterrupted Melody" Splash Page Original Art (EC, 1956). For a Stan Freberg article, artist Wally Wood went all-out in producing a huge illustration loaded to the hilt with "eyeball kicks": curvaceous women (one, anyway); typical Wood kiddies, one wearing a space helmet; even a portrait of Stan, as he screams from hearing one too many ice cream truck jingles! Wild 'n' wacky stuff, from one of the last Mad issues edited by Harvey Kurtzman. The original artwork is on the left side of a large piece of bristol board; it's actually drawn of a separate piece of Craftint board that has been glued to the bristol, with an approximate image area of 10.25" x 22.25". The ice cream truck drawing on the right is an original photostat. There's quite a bit of white-out used on the art, and there is some minor soiling along the borders, but the art itself remains in Excellent condition.
