Description

Wally Wood Daredevil #5 Pin-Up Illustration Original Art (Marvel, 1964). This Marvelous masterwork pin-up features Marvel's "Man Without Fear" walking a highwire. It was created just a few months after Daredevil's debut and is the first and only Silver Age pin-up of Daredevil in the yellow costume. The smooth fluidity of Wood's line work worked so well on Daredevil, it was a shame that he worked on only a few of the early issues.
It's an impressive piece created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5" (including the stat paste-up header). The board is toned, with handling wear, and some glue residue near the stat. The board has also previously been folded across the center, which is difficult to fully see in our image of the front, but is more visible in raking light. In Very Good condition.
