Description

Wally Wood and Bob Powell Daredevil #10 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1965). The great Wally Wood presents a breathtaking Daredevil, even in silhouette alone, in this shadowy opening splash page. This page features the very first appearances of the villainous Ani-Men, including Cat Man, Bird Man, Ape Man, and Frog Man, and their leader the Organizer, in the first Daredevil issue written by Wood, heralded in the opening text. The Organization offers a humorous juxtaposition between the hooded menace of their leadership and the wacky animal costumes of their underlings, showcasing the wide variety of villains present in Silver Age comics. Ink over graphite on Bristol board in twice-up scale with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Production notes/marks, staples, tape, glue, glue residue, two missing paste-ups (in the upper and lower left), whiteout, toning, and handling wear. In Good condition.
