DescriptionVicente Alcazar - Original Splash Page Art for Space: 1999 Magazine #2, page 58, "The Mind of the Snark" (Charlton, 1976). One of the coolest TV shows of the 1970s, "Space:1999" was the brainchild of Gerry Anderson, the genius behind such classic Supermarionation shows as "Thunderbirds" and "Captain Scarlet." Hopelessly dated by today's standards, the show spawned a host of merchandising, including both a comic book and a magazine from Charlton. This moody, evocative page, from the last story in this issue, is brilliantly rendered by Vicente Alcazar and measures approximately 12.75" x 17.75" overall. In excellent condition, this is a great piece from a fondly remembered series.
