DescriptionVaughn Bode - Powermowerman "For Safety's Sake" Splash Page 1 Original Art (Frank Burgmeler Co., 1966). Underground cartoonist Vaughn Bode got his professional start on a 16-page comic entitled Powermowerman, a public service book designed to tell kids about the safe way to handle a lawn mower. Here's the first page from that rare comic, drawn in a style similar to Bode's college comics (as seen in the 1966 paperback collection, Wonder Wart-Hog, Captain Crud, & other Super Stuff. The board measures approximately 16" x 11", with an image area of 9.25" x 13.5". As an added bonus, a VF copy of the comic (which had a list value of $125 in the 1982 Official Underground and Newave Comix Price Guide.) is included.
