Description

Tony DeZuñiga Marvel Preview #2 The Punisher Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1975). The Punisher takes up a rooftop position looking down on a crowded downtown Manhattan street on this opening splash from the vigilante's first solo / origin story and only fifth-ever appearance! Frank Castle dictates another entry in his prized War Journal as he observes a political rally on Wall Street and begins to scour the area for an assassin he was tipped-off about. A striking establishing shot over the Punisher's shoulder as he readies his rifle for the eventual target on this page rendered in ink and wash over graphite on textured, lightweight Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15". Toning, production label in the upper left, marginal pinholes and notes, blue pencil editorial marks and whiteout corrections, taped text paste-ups in the bottom margin, with light soiling/staining and creasing/handling wear. In Very Good condition.
