    Description

Sheldon Moldoff (attributed) Bob Swift, Boy Sportsman Double-Truck Splash Pages 24-25 Original Art Group of 2 (Fawcett Comics, 1951). Fly-fishing enthusiasts will flip over this magnificent two-pager (designed for publication on facing pages), in which outdoorsmen Bob Swift and Doc Baker encounter a legendary fish -- the "King of the Lake." Moldoff makes a breathtaking transition from Golden Age superhero fantasy (as in Hawkman and Batman), achieving lifelike realism on a grand scale. A splash panel in both senses of the word -- an emphatic, dominant image, and a literal, watery "SPLASH!" complete with exclamation point. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Each image area, 13" x 18". Light toning. Excellent condition.
