DescriptionRobert Crumb Zap Comix #9 "Lap o' Luxury" Page 1 Original Art (Print Mint, 1978). Little Bobby is perched high on Mommie's knee watching television and enjoying a lollipop in this opening page to another one of R. Crumb's examinations of past events that have driven him to the point of insanity (in a good way, of course). Nobody did childhood nostalgia quite like Crumb! And no Underground Comix artist was as popular with fans and collectors as the man who had been drawing his own comic books since a very early age. Driven by his older brother Charles' obsessions with comics like Little Lulu and Paul Terry's Comics, Robert honed his skills as a "funnybook" artist long before his work first saw print; he was a well-known participant in the late 1950s EC-inspired fanzine craze many years before he would turn the world of comic books on it's collective head with Zap. This page is in ink and whiteout on a sheet of sketchbook paper, with an approximate image size of 8" x 12", matted and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 18" x 21". Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
