DescriptionRick Hoberg and Willie Blyberg New Gods #21 Double-Truck Splash Page Original Art (DC Comics, 1990). Inheriting a classic feature from creator Jack Kirby is always a tough proposition. Hoberg and Blyberg met the challenge admirably in this revival of Kirby's New Gods, helped along by the epic sensibilities of writer Mark Evanier. This fine two-page splash finds key characters Metron and Fastbak exploring the wreckage of a temple of the Old Gods, dominated by an imposing statue. Ink over graphite on DC-brand Bristol board, joined at the center by a strip of production tape on reverse. Image area, 20.25" x 15". Light toning and marginal editorial notes. Excellent condition.
