Paul Reinman - Original Splash Page for The Mighty Crusaders #6 (MLJ, 1966). In the late 1960's Archie Comics entered the superhero comics gold-rush with their own brand of heroes, and comics haven't been the same since! Fly-Man, Fly-Girl, the Black Hood, the Comet, and the Shield, together they're known as the Mighty Crusaders, and now they're "In the Toils of the Maestro" in a story written by industry great Jerry Siegel. Full figure drawings of all the Mighty heroes, standing on their Star-Olater, practically fill the whole page. This large 12" x 17.5" image will make a fine addition to any collection. The art, which is very clean with not a speck of white-out, has some slight notes written across the uppermost edge. A sleeper splash page if ever there was one! Don't pass up this opportunity to own a really great piece of art from a really great era!

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
