Description

Paul Coker Jr. (attributed) MAD Double Splash Page Original Art (EC, 1970s). A scene of life in the city, chock-full of typical "Big City" encounters, as rendered by Paul Coker, Jr. The piece was created in ink on onionskin paper, affixed to a larger Bristol board, with a matted image area of 19" x 16.75". The image was trimmed to the skyline in the upper area (and the MAD blimp was trimmed out and added to the board) before some ink work was added to the sky. All text is stat paste-up. Matted and glass front framed to 22.5" x 20.25". There is a small rip in the top center of the image area of the onionskin, repaired when pasted to the board. In Very Good condition. From the MAD Collection of Annie Gaines Ashton.
