Mike Zeck and John Beatty Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #7 Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter) First Appearance Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1984). Spider-Woman mysteriously appears and introduces herself to the Human Torch of the Fantastic Four, as Captain America, Thor, and the rest of the heroes are alerted by the stranger. Supposedly from another piece of Battleworld stolen from Earth, Julia Carpenter first appears on this opening title splash wearing a costume which ends up being eerily similar to the Black Symbiote costume Spider-Man "creates" just one issue later. An unexpected first appearance from a character who would eventually play a big part in the Marvel Universe! Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Slight toning, trimmed top edge and corners, stat header and indicia paste-ups, tape abrasions on the top/bottom edges, editorial notes in the left margin, whiteout corrections, with light creasing/handling wear.
