    Description

Mike Sekowsky Justice League of America #42 Splash Page 1 Metamorpho Original Art (DC, 1966). When offered membership in the Justice League of America... "Metamorpho says -- NO!" This Gardner Fox tale made history with Metamorpho being the first character to actually turn down the JLA (Black Lightning would famously do so in the Bronze Age as well). The Fab Freak of 1000-and-1 Changes already had his own title anyway. The splash page featured JLA members Batman, Superman, Flash, the Atom, and Green Lantern. The page was created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 19". The JLA logo and the indicia are modern-day printed replacements. The top caption box is the original hand-lettered paste-up text. The Metamorpho logo stat is also original. The lightly toned board has just a couple of glue residue stains. Overall in Excellent condition.
