Martin Nodell Green Lantern Unpublished "Tin Pan Alley" Splash Page 1 Original Art (DC, c. 1940s). An amazing find! This is the splash page for an unpublished Green Lantern story from the 1940s. This great Golden Age page features a large Green Lantern head, Doiby Dickles, and the Wood God Pan, playing his flute. Most likely intended for either All-American Comics or Green Lantern Comics, you can just barely make out the stamp "Written Off" on the bottom edge of the page. The page is signed by Martin Nodell, co-creator of the character, in the bottom of the art image. You could not have hoped to have met a nicer creator in the industry than Martin Nodell. He and his wife Carrie were respected and revered guests at many conventions in their later years. This page is ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". Slight tanning, and a small part of the logo paste-up has flaked off, otherwise in Excellent condition.
