    Description

Magneto #1 Auschwitz Splash Page 1 and 2 Original Art (Marvel, c. 2000). As the Nazis took over control in Poland in 1939, they built one of their many Konzentrationslager (Concentration camps), Auschwitz, to gather their prisoners -- especially Jewish people, Roma and Sinti, members of religious groups or homosexual people - and unbeknownst to them -- one of the most powerful mutants on Earth -- Magneto. This gritty double-page spread, spotlighting the infamous motto "Arbeit macht frei" ("Work sets you free") that stood above the gates, is drawn on two sheets of taped-together paper. It has a combined image area of 15.5" x 20", and the art is in Excellent condition. Signed illegibly at the lower center-right.
