Description
Lou Fine Crack Comics #17 Splash Page 1 Black Condor Original Art (Quality, 1941). Under a series of pseudonyms, Lou Fine worked on the Golden Age characters of Black Condor, Doll Man, The Ray, and Uncle Sam. His produced some of the best designed and most exciting covers of the early 1940s. Fine was also chosen to ink over Jack Cole's pencils when the two were tasked with ghosting for Will Eisner on The Spirit comic Sunday newspaper section while Eisner served during WWII. Lou Fine's fluid draftsmanship has inspired many other artists. This splash page is action packed, with clean lined architecture in the background. It is produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". The page is lightly tanned, with graphite smudging on the bottom margin.
