Description

Jon Bogdanove and Dennis Janke Superman: The Man of Steel #18 Double Splash Pages 12-13 Original Art (DC, 1992). As chaos brews beneath Metropolis, a gang of monstrous, rogue war-world refugees tunnel toward the surface, holding Lois Lane hostage as their twisted invasion begins. This sprawling double-page splash crackles with energy, its hulking machinery and snarling brutes rendered in a style that feels straight out of the Kirby playbook, and appears in the very same issue that features Doomsday's first full appearance. Ink and dot halftone over graphite on two conjoined DC Bristol boards held together with tape on the back, with a combined image area of 21.75" x 15.25". Minor smudging, whiteout touch-ups, stat page number paste-ups, marginal staple holes, and light handling wear. In Excellent condition.
From the Dennis Janke Collection.
