Description

John Timms Superman: Son of Kal-El #5 Splash Page 20 Original Art (DC, 2022). DC Comics' march towards diversity and inclusion leaped a tall building in a single bound when they published this splash page featuring the new Superman, Jonathan "Jon" Kent, sharing a first kiss with his boyfriend, journalist Jay Nakamura, in 2022. Using the visibility of a character like Superman to reinforce the publisher's commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community was a delightful surprise to many queer comic book fans, and the kiss made worldwide headlines. This significant Modern Age moment was rendered by John Timms with ink over printed blue lines on a Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18.5". There is corner/edge wear with minor creasing, and Timms has signed the art in the lower margin. In Excellent condition.
