DescriptionJohn Byrne and Terry Austin X-Men #111 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1978). Was this the first great Claremont-Byrne-Austin story? It's certainly memorable and was a hit at the time too, snagging the Eagle award for the favorite single story in all of comics for that year. It begins with the Beast at a country carnival, shocked by the sight of what he thinks might be the new X-Men. There are only so many Byrne-Austin X-Men splashes to go around, so give this one a strong look! The back of the piece has two alternate designs of the story title's logo, presumably by Tom Orzechowski. Signed by both artists in the image area, though Austin's signature has faded a bit. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 13.75". One clipped corner, otherwise Excellent condition.
