Description

John Buscema and Jim Mooney Amazing Spider-Man #78 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1969). We've seen the Spider-Man figure here used for at least one modern-day Marvel poster, and you can see why, as it's a definitive pose for everyone's favorite hero. You can see the art credits here on the page -- we presume the "innovator/illustrator" credits mean that Buscema supplied breakdowns and Mooney finished pencils and inks. Mooney even signed the page in the bottom margin under the indicia. This page from the first appearance of the The Prowler also notes that he was "suggested" by John Romita, Jr. (who was just 13 years old at the time). Ink over graphite on very white Bristol board. Matted with an inside mat image area of 10.5" x 15.5". In Excellent condition.
