    Description

John Buscema and Frank Giacoia Sub-Mariner #5 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1968). Just recovering from his battle with Captain Mar-Vell, Namor now needs to "Watch Out For... Tiger Shark!" This issue marked the first appearance for the gene-spliced recurring villain. A very splashy splash page, it was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The top banner and the bottom indicia are paste-ups with a bit of production tape on them. There are some minor whiteout art corrections. The page also has some minor stains in the margins, and smudging in the text caption and one balloon. The page has previously been folded horizontally through the image area; however, has been pressed flat since then, with only a small visible crease. A nice bonus are the loosely penciled figures on the reverse side by Buscema. Overall, the toned page is in Very Good condition.
