Description

John Buscema and Alfredo Alcala The Savage Sword of Conan #4 Splash Page Original Art (Marvel Comics, 1975). Robert E. Howard's signature character, Conan the Cimmerian, lies wounded and at the mercy of a vicious mob: "The rat-faced man stalks forward, dagger upraised..." The irresistible combination of Buscema's lithe, expressive figures and Alcala's woodcut-like inking has defined the Conan series for generations of comics fans. Ink over graphite, with painted white highlights, on Bristol board. Image area, 10.5" x 15". Light toning. Excellent condition.
