Description

John Bolton Batman / Joker: Switch #1 Splash Page 64 Element Painting Original Art (DC, 2003). The Joker closes the curtain with a wink and that too-wide, maniacal grin on the final page of this prestige one-shot, painted entirely by John Bolton. The sting is pure dark comedy: Dr. Nigel Dalingsworth, the London plastic surgeon fixated on "original" works and tied to the Joker's grotesque mutilation, turns out not to be an untouchable mastermind at all, but an Arkham Asylum inmate -- a doctor who belongs in the same cage as his patient. This painted splash is offered without the acetate overlay containing the two painted inset panels that complete the published page. Created in acrylic on thin stock mounted to the back of DC Bristol board, with an image area of 8.5" x 13.5". A protective paper overlay is taped to the reverse. Signed and dated by Bolton in the lower image area. In Excellent condition.
