Description

Joe Simon and Jack Kirby Stuntman #5 Unpublished Double-Page Splash Original Art (Harvey, c. 1946). This little-seen masterwork was slated for the unpublished issue #5 of Stuntman. Simon & Kirby comics expert Harry Mendryk has noted, "Jack Kirby was working on 'The Evil Sons of M. LeBlanc' when Simon and Kirby received the news that Stuntman had been canceled. Three of the figures appear to be fully inked, one (the Tumbler) may be almost, but not quite completed (mainly work is lacking on his left forearm) and two only have outline inking. Stuntman figure's large, probably the largest figure in a splash that Kirby ever drew during the period he partnered with Simon." This spectacular action-adventure classic has an image area of 26" x 18", and aside from overall aging, glue stains and heavy edge and corner wear, the art is in Good condition. From the Joe Simon Estate.
