Joe Kubert The Brave and the Bold #35 Splash Page 1 Hawkman and Hawkgirl Original Art (DC, 1961). Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkgirl make their second appearances! A high-flying splash featuring the Winged Wonders as they soar into danger from the story "Valley of Vanishing Men". What is the secret behind the Abominable Snowmen?... Aliens. But hey, Katar Hol and Shayera Hol were aliens as well, right? Editor-in-Chief Julie Schwartz was pulling from his years as a science fiction literary agent to give DC's revitalized Silver Age a basis in Science and Science Fiction. To that extent, he pulled in talented sci-fi writers, such as Gardner Fox, who created the updated versions of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Created at twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 19". The Hawkman logo is a modern day replacement. Slight toning, title sticker in the top margin, scratch technique effects over Hawkgirl, notes in the left margin, whiteout corrections, rippling along the lower left edge, with light staining and creasing/handling wear.
