Jeff Aclin and Bob Layton Planet of the Apes #85 Splash Page 1 Drax the Destroyer Original Art (Marvel UK, 1976). This British weekly comic featured Planet of the Apes lead content, with reprints of many other Marvel comic stories. This piece was created as an all-new original art splash page to introduce a segment of the story from Captain Marvel #28. It features Drax the Destroyer, who is currently enjoying popularity from his appearances in the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise. There is even an image of Thanos, the mad god of Titan, in the statue Drax is smashing. A powerful page in in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". All text is paste-up. There is a cute inked drawing of a duck on the reverse side, that seems to be inker Bob Layton's way of saying "Hi" to Marie Severin. Signed by artist Jeff Aclin in the top margin. The page is in Excellent condition.
