    Description

Jack Sparling - Original Art for Classics Illustrated #7, page 1 (Gilberton,1956 ). The gentleman outlaw, Robin Hood, has been renowned in song and story for centuries, ever since his first literary appearance in Piers Plowman in the fourteenth century. Illustrated here by Jack Sparling (best known for his work with Dell Comics in the 1950s) for the second Classics Illustrated version of this tale, this is a great piece that shows Robin doing what he did best--robbing from the rich to give to the poor. Measuring approximately 23" x 14.5" overall with an image area of approximately 18" x 12", this is an exquisite piece that is sure to be an excellent addition to any collection.
