Jack Kirby, Werner Roth (as Jay Gavin), and Dick Ayers X-Men #17 Splash Page 20 Original Art (Marvel, 1966). The only large-size splash from Marvel's Silver Age that depicts Magneto, the X-Men's archenemy! Breakdowns by Kirby, finished art by Roth, and inks by Ayers. This is the shocking last page of the story: the Angel's parents are greeted at the door of Professor Xavier's mansion by the team's biggest nemesis, who was presumed gone and forever imprisoned by the mysterious Stranger back in issue #11. Ink over graphite on thicker-then-usual art board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Comics Code stamp on the back. The board has toned with age, there are pinholes at all four corners, and there's creasing that's mostly only noticeable on the back of the piece except for a light horizontal crease halfway through Magneto's midsection. In Very Good condition.
