Description

Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta - Thor #158, Splash Page 18 Original Art (Marvel, 1968). The mightiest of the mighty, the Lord of Asgard, the all-wise, all-just, all-father himself -- Odin, the living omnipotence, stands garbed in all his regal splendor in this mind-boggling scene from "The Way It Was." Jack Kirby created his own modern mythology. In the forties, he drew the classic Greek Gods, recast as superheroes. Then, in the sixties, Jack Kirby co-created The Mighty Thor, and modernized and revised the Norse God myths. Vince Colletta added his distinctive inking to create the perfect finish for this Silver Age masterwork. The image area of this spectacular splash page measures 10" x 15". Aside from some mild glue-staining from missing Zipatone film on parts of Odin's costume, the art is in Excellent condition.
