Description

Jack Kirby and Syd Shores Captain America #101 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1968). For fans of Captain America -- Silver Age splashes don't get any better than this hard-hitting opener from "When Wakes the Sleeper." The Star-Spangled Sentinel clobbers two of the Red Skull's minions in this pencil, ink, brush, and pen on Bristol slugfest. This prime time Captain America classic spotlights Jack "King" Kirby's dynamic pencils, which were then expertly polished by Timely art legend Syd Shores. This socko splash, spotlighting one of Kirby's greatest characters, is nothing less than a peak-period Kirby action page, and it has an image area of 10" x 14". Besides the incredible "King" Kirby battle scene, this page is filled with classic Stan "the Man" Lee dialogue, and hallmark Artie Simek lettering -- in short -- this piece is a Marvel Age masterpiece. There is some light overall paper aging; otherwise, this sixties show-stopper is in Excellent condition.
