Description

Jack Kirby and Frank Giacoia 2001: A Space Odyssey #1 Splash Page 57 Original Art (Marvel, 1976). Published as a Marvel Treasury Edition, Jack Kirby wrote and penciled this official comic-book adaptation of the classic Stanley Kubrick film based on a novel by Arthur C. Clarke. Framed by the EVA pod's window, Dave Bowman gazes awestruck at the monolith above Jupiter as he begins "The Dimension Trip!" into the story's final arc. Kirby perfectly captures the breathtaking wonder of the profound cosmic encounter in this compelling splash page. Crafted in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 14.5". Blue pencil editorial marks, whiteout, smudging, toning, stripped-in text correction taped from the back of the page, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
