DescriptionJack Kirby and Alfredo Alcala Destroyer Duck #5 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Eclipse, 1983). The other big Modern Age Duck, after Howard, was this web-footed dynamo, created when writer Steve Gerber was involved in a lawsuit against Marvel over Howard's ownership. Gerber brought in the big guns to help raise funding for his legal fees, including Jack Kirby, who penciled the first five issues. Here's his splash page to that fifth issue, with delicate inking from Alfredo Alcala. The art is in ink and graphite on DC Comics artboard, with an approximate image area of 10" x 15". The art is in Excellent condition. As a bonus, a copy of Destroyer Duck #1, CGC-graded 9.6 with off-white to white pages is included.
