Georges Pichard, influential artist and mentor to Joann Sfar, David B., and Annie Goetzinger, explored transgressive erotic themes inspired by the Marquis de Sade. La Perfection Chrétienne is a previously unseen cycle of over 120 pages that subverts Christian iconography into a breviary of penitence, nudity, and punishment, blurring pain and pleasure. Mixed media on thick illustration board; image area 11.75" x 17". Minor staining in the left margin, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.More information about Georges Pichard.
