DescriptionGeorge Perez - History of the DC Universe #1 Splash Page 12 Original Art (DC, 1986). Back in ancient Egypt, Teth-Adam was the first human to be blessed with superpowers by the wizard Shazam. Each time he said "Shazam" a bolt of lightning turned him into Mighty Adam, who had the powers of six Egyptian Gods. He became a hero and served prince Khufu until the prince's murder. That murder made him rethink his actions and he decided to use his powers for his own selfish purposes. Feeling guilty for Teth-Adam's behavior, Shazam removed his gift and put the powers he stripped from Adam inside a scarab amulet, locking it inside Pharaoh Rameses II's tomb until the 20th century. With text by Marv Wolfman and artwork by George Perez (the same team that brought you Crisis on Infinite Earths), this page from the first volume of History of the DC Universe tells Black Adam's origin in infinite visual detail. The image of the pyramid is on a separate vellum overlay. The image area is 10" x 15" and the art is in Excellent condition.
