Description

Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil #177 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1981). Stick is one of Frank Miller's most enduring contributions to the Daredevil mythos, and this page -- featuring the blind martial arts master helping retrain Matt Murdock after the loss of his radar sense -- comes from the character's second-ever appearance. It includes full-body images of both Stick and an unmasked Matt, who is, uncharacteristically, armed with a bow and a quiver of arrows -- a visual that echoes Miller's vision of Daredevil as a modern warrior rather than just a costumed vigilante. This piece has remained in a single private collection for over 30 years, making it a rare opportunity to own a memorable page from the heart of Miller's iconic Daredevil run. Rendered in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The board is toned, with whiteout, clipped corners, production tape, a tape pull at the top right, and light handling wear. The indicia is a paste-up. Signed by Miller and in Very Good condition.
