Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil #165 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1980). It was only Miller's seventh issue on the title that would define him as much as he defined it. Elektra was still three issues away, and Matt was still attempting to date Natasha (the Black Widow). This fantastic splash page shows where the Netflix TV series Daredevil was drawing much of its look and feel from. The title "Arms of the Octopus" is obviously a reference to the Spider-Man villain, Doctor Octopus, who would bedevil DD for this issue. A hidden bonus on this page are two graphite sketches on the backside from the hand of Frank Miller. One of them is Pike, the pool-player from Pages 2-3. The page is crafted in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15" (counting the stat header and indicia). The page is slightly toned, with production tape in the bottom edge. The image area is in Excellent condition.
