Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Daredevil #158 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1979). Well "splash" doesn't begin to describe the effect Frank Miller's first page on Daredevil had on this title. Despite scripts by Roger McKenzie and art by Gene Colan, sales on the title had slipped and it was only being published bi-monthly. But newcomer Frank Miller, teamed with Klaus Janson, would turn this title into one of Marvel's most talked about books in just a short time, with the introduction of The Hand (a band of ninjas), and a most unusual love interest for Daredevil, ninja assassin Elektra. This splash page features Natasha Romanoff (aka the Black Widow) just about to hand out a solid beat-down. Signed by Miller in the bottom image area. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14". There is overall tanning, a couple of corners trimmed, and minor foxing in places. In Very Good condition. From the Greg Reece Collection.
