Curt Swan and Joe Staton - Original Splash Page Art for Superman #355, page 23 (DC, 1981). Welcome to the gala ceremony celebrating the opening of New Metropolis... the first sky-city of the 21st century. Among the special guests on hand for this historic event are the original Superman I, who first came to fame in Old Metropolis, half a century ago. And his adult son, renowned the world over as Superman II. But the guest of honor, the teenage son of Superman II, has not yet arrived. "Where is Superman III?" is the title of this imaginary story written by Cary Bates and penciled by Superman legend, Curt Swan. Swan's classy, straightforward pencils are finished with style by Joe Staton. The overall page size is 10.75" x 16", with a 10" x 15" image area. The art shows some slight aging, but it is well-kept. There is some slight white-out usage and some random blue-line markings in several of the type boxes. Three of the corners were cut diagonally when the art was being prepared for the printing process. A classic piece of Swan Superman art.
