    Description

Chris Bachalo and Mark Pennington - Original Splash Page Art for Shade, the Changing Man #5, page 28 (DC, 1990). This page from the story "Hollywood Babble On" was written by Peter Milligan, penciled by Chris Bachalo and inked by Mark Pennington. Director Ed Loot, shooting his movie "Hollywood Monsters," is killed and becomes a zombie after the camera films the hidden crimes and dirty secrets of the actors rather than the movie. This final performance piece page has an unearthly Busby Berkley feel to it, and Shade and his friend witness the undead spectacle. The overall page size is 11" x 17" with a 10.25" x 15.75" image area. Pennington finishes out Bachalo's pencils with rich pen and ink and some pencil tone to give the work some texture. The work is in great shape, with some slight smudging along the left and right edges. Very beautiful stuff! Signed by Mark Pennington at the bottom right.
