C.C. Beck (attributed) Double Talk! Set of 2 Splash Pages Original Art (Christian Anti-Communist Crusade, 1962). The structural style of Beck, long the lead artist on the playful Captain Marvel comics, is evident in these full-page propaganda pieces. But the inking suggests a lighter touch, from a different hand. Neither page is signed, in any event. This matched set depicts a menacing Nikita Khrushchev -- a sequel to the same publisher's Two Faces of Communism (1961). Both were inspired by another church-based title, The Red Iceberg (1960). Stark ink outlines (no shading) over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 18". Excellent condition.
