Carmine Infantino and Joe Giella - The Flash #124, Splash page 1 Original Art (DC, 1961). Carmine Infantino and the Flash were at the height of their collective popularity when this action-packed story debuted in issue 1961, and this eye-popping splash alerted fans to the fact that the Scarlet Speedster was teaming up not just with powerfully pliable Elongated Man, but that he had also formed an unholy alliance with the nefarious Captain Boomerang, in order to combat an extraterrestrial menace. Splash pages like this, from the dawn of the Silver Age, are hotly coveted, and this spectacular image is sure to be the prize of any collection. However, the story doesn't end there -- in fact, the original art for this entire story was awarded to letterhack/fan Donald Foote in 1961 as a prize for his "award-winning" Flash-Gram, and we have the accompanying letter from Julius Schwartz to prove it! Julie's original letter accompanies this splash page, and Heritage is proud to be offering all of the other fifteen pages from this fast-paced story as separate lots in this auction! The artwork measures 14.25" x 21.5" and is in Excellent condition. The Julius Schwartz letter has a staple hole at the top and crease along the right edge, but is generally in Very Good condition, and features an authentic Schwartz signature.
