DescriptionBill Ward - Cracked, Splash Pages 26 and 27 Original Art (Globe Communications, undated). Rev up your engines as we take "A Cracked Look at Motocross," with art by Bill Ward. This double-page spread was produced for Cracked, one of the oldest humor magazines, and the only surviving competitor of Mad. Ward has had a highly prolific career, having penciled thousands of pages for books ranging from Captain Marvel and Blackhawk, to his own creation, Torchy. But Ward eventually moved away from the comic book field, gracing men’s magazines with his instantly recognizable renditions of the female form. And in 1954, he joined Cracked where he stayed for many years. The image area of this piece measures 23" x 16", and although there is some glue staining overall, the art is in Good condition.
