    Description

Alex Saviuk and Vince Colletta Action Comics #489 "Atom" Story Splash Original Art (DC Comics, 1978). Julius Schwartz, chief architect of the superhero revival of the midcentury, took an especial pride in the Atom, a science-fictional revamp of a 1940s muscleman character. This opening page recaptures an essence of the early-1960s Atom, with Saviuk and Colletta approaching the Gil Kane-Murphy Anderson standard of the character's 1961 debut. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Excellent condition.
