DescriptionAlex Nino - Original Splash Page Art for Adventure Comics #425, page 1 (DC, 1973). From the first page of the first Captain Fear story, written by Robert Kanigher, comes this tremendous page by Alex Nino. Nino's unhurried, almost accidental approach to his craft is perfectly suited for the pastoral setting of this Caribbean scenario. Although there is certainly nothing "accidental" about Nino's technique, he captures the kinetic vitality of every frame of this adventurous page, where a Spanish galleon sets upon some unsuspecting Haitian indians, cannons blazing. The overall page size is 10.5" x 15.75" with a 10" x 15" image area. The work is well-cared for, with the exception of some slight tape stains at the top, bottom and right edges, and two small stains, one at the top left and the other in the middle of the last frame.
