    Description

Wally Wood - Pulp Illustration Original Art (undated). A gorgeous Wally Wood fantasy femme rides a double-headed dragon through a superbly detailed landscape. The Wallace Wood Treasury noted that this piece was "Perhaps one of the strangest drawings Wood has ever done. This pulp drawing shows a strong influence from Virgil Finlay." The drawing spotlights a variety of pen styles and techniques used to create dazzling textures and lighting effects. The drawing also combines Wood's mastery of the humor, "good girl," and fantasy genres into one whimsical image. The image area measures 14.5" x 17". There are a few touches of white-out along the borders of the paper; otherwise the art is in Excellent condition. Wally Wood signed the drawing in the lower right. This is a spectacular piece of early "Woodwork," and a shining example of why Wally Wood is hailed as one of comics' all-time greats!
