Vaughn Bode College Gag Panel (Orange Ivy, 1965). This college-publication gag panel represents an early chapter in the brilliant-but-short career of cartoonist Vaughn Bode. It's by no means one of his first comic efforts, as Bode had begun creating cartoons and comics by age five (he was born in 1941). In fact, his first published work was in a church flyer -- Vaughn was all of 13 at the time! This satirical pen and ink piece, from the artist's sophomore year in college, wasn't far off from the the wild Underground Comix he would be soon be creating. It measures approximately 5.5" x 7", and has been expertly matted to an overall size of 10.5" x 12". Some light glue residue from removed shading film has left a slight stain on the door and building area of the art; otherwise, this item is in Excellent condition.
