    S. Clay Wilson - Original Illustration (No Publisher, undated). Our original description of this item stated that this original work is a self-portrait; however, we were incorrect in this regard. Heritage Comics Auctions offers a sincere apology to Mr. Wilson for stating that this piece is autobiographical. It was a mistaken assumption on our part, and we are sorry. This piece portrays two fictional characters from Clay's imagination. Signed "Leo" on the front, this was one of the ways in which S. Clay signed his pieces before his underground days. This illustration is in black and red ink, with some pencil. It is signed in pencil on the back in full "S. Clay Wilson, circa 1961". The image fills the entire 9" x 11.5" piece of paper and has no white-out.
