Description

Ron Wilson and Kyle Baker - Original Art for Marvel Graphic Novel #31: Wolfpack (Marvel, 1987). The Wolfpack are a group of teen-aged youths who reside in the South Bronx, in New York City. The surviving pack members continue to protect and patrol the Bronx, and battle the forces of The Nine. Here is the cover art for the very first appearance of the Wolfpack, which appeared as a Marvel Graphic Novel, before the comic book series began. Set against the subway and the graffiti-coated grit of the Bronx, this humongous illustration of the Pack is pencilled by Ron Wilson, the artist who co-created the concept and handled the pencils for the entire series. Kyle Baker puts the ink down in a style as gritty as the scenario, with a lot of texture and scratchy effects. The overall art size is 24" x 30". The art is clean, and well-kept, with some white-out, used primarily for textural effect.
